The next day, your exciting safari adventure will officially begin.
On the third day, you’ll journey from Arusha to the breathtaking Tarangire National Park, where you’ll stay at the Tarangire Safari Lodge. The day begins with a scenic drive of a few hours, passing traditional Maasai villages and, if you’re lucky, spotting wildlife like zebras or giraffes along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll enter Tarangire National Park, enjoy lunch, and embark on an exciting game drive to encounter the park’s diverse wildlife. Today, you’ll set out for a full-day excursion to the stunning Ngorongoro Crater, beginning with an early start to arrive at the park entrance as the morning unfolds. During the game drive, you’ll explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site and marvel at the crater’s unique ecosystem and rich biodiversity. While giraffes aren’t found in the crater, you’ll have the chance to spot rhinos, one of its most famous residents, along with many other fascinating species. Today, you’ll embark on a scenic journey from Plantation Lodge in Karatu to the heart of Serengeti National Park, where you’ll stay at the Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge. Although it’s a longer drive, there will be plenty of stops along the way to take in the stunning scenery. You’ll pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the Maasai community who have lived here for generations, adding cultural depth to the day’s experience. Once you enter the Serengeti, you’ll be greeted by sweeping plains and abundant wildlife, offering a taste of the incredible sights awaiting you.
Today is dedicated to a full-day game drive through central Serengeti, complete with lunch amidst the iconic landscapes and abundant wildlife. You’ll traverse the acacia-dotted savannas, encounter the unique rock formations known as kopjes, and experience the Serengeti’s diverse habitats. Today, you’ll journey from central Serengeti to the northern region, where you’ll be staying at Mara Tented Lodge. The day will be filled with an exciting game drive, including a scenic lunch break as you travel to this new area. Along the way, you’ll witness the captivating shifts in landscape and encounter diverse wildlife unique to the northern Serengeti. Enjoy the remarkable scenery and animal sightings as you explore more of this extraordinary ecosystem.
On your second-to-last day, you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive to witness the incredible wildebeest migration at the Mara River, with lunch included. From Mara Tented Lodge, it’s only a 10-minute drive to reach this prime location, where you may have the chance to see multiple river crossings in one day—a breathtaking display of nature’s power and resilience. Along with the migration, there will be opportunities to spot other wildlife, possibly even the Big Five. It’s a day filled with awe-inspiring sights and unforgettable moments in the heart of the Serengeti.
On your final day, you have several options for departing the Serengeti. You may choose to take a domestic flight back to Arusha or, if you’d like to unwind on the beach, fly directly to Zanzibar for a relaxing end to your adventure. Alternatively, you can opt for a scenic drive back to Arusha; however, please keep in mind this is a longer journey. Each option offers a unique way to conclude your unforgettable Tanzanian experience.
